Aim and Fire Friday

Aim and Fire Friday posts are designed specifically for the amateur photographer who wants to learn to take better photographs but doesn’t have fancy equipment. All of the photos in the Aim and Fire Friday posts are taken with a Nikon Coolpix E995 unless otherwise noted.

Rhythm, we have it in music and we have it in photography.  Today however, we're only concerned with photography. :)

What is rhythm?  I like to think of it as repetition or a constant/repeating pattern.

Why is it important?  It directs the viewers eye to focus on a specific point, usually this is the horizon line or the point were the pattern disappears or fades into infinity creating visual stimulation.

Conclusion.  Finding rhythm/pattern can be a lot of fun and can really enhance a photo. Once you start looking for it I'm sure you'll find it all around you.  May I suggest you grab your camera, keep your eyes open for rhythm/pattern, and start snapping?  You won't regret it.

P.S. Remember, it doesn't matter what camera you have, this technique works for everyone.  Just look at the pictures below, taken with a Nikon Coolpix about four to five years ago.
